Must be in or willing to move to the SF Bay Area. Y Combinator started Startup School two years ago as a way to help as many startups and founders as possible. Over 30,000 companies and 40,000 founders participated in 2019 — our largest cohort ever. We are looking to scale Startup School's impact even further by hiring a product engineer on our small YC software team. In this role, you will: - Engage directly with startup founders (and possibly future YC founders!) to understand their needs from the startup school program, software and YC more broadly - Own scoping and prioritization of the Startup School roadmap, driving alignment with stakeholders like YC partners, staff and the software team - Design and build out new features in entirety, including office hours, AMAs, event planning, forums and things you come up with - Analyze usage and engagement with an eye for improvement of participant engagement and overall experience - Learn a ton about startups: from technology to business to fundraising to growth and everything in between We're looking for capable generalist engineers. We care mostly about your ability to write great software; we don’t care if you’ve used the technologies we work with as long as you’re willing to learn them. Because we don’t have product managers, we look for engineers with great product instincts who can own whole projects from start to finish.
